The Spark That Shall Never Die

This night
Let me imagine
That there is not
Throughout the expanse
Of being and naught
Only He and I--

For is it truly not so?
In heavens and earth
Who other than He
Knows the loneliness of my path?

This one night
Allow my fantasy
That death
I will not see--

And truly it is so:
The spark that He did blow
Into my life-flame
For all eternity will glow
